Man, I don’t know what to do. What the hell is happening in this world? And why do we folks here in the US of A have to try to cure what ever is happening?
I mean that mess in Gaza, we got to get somebody over there, and when I say somebody, I mean from the the US of A, to settle that mess. Man, them Jews and Arabs been going at each other for a long time–40, 50 years. Also, I’m confused. Hamas or some dudes been shooting rockets into Israel, and when Israel got tired of those dudes taking pot shots at’em, man, they blast back with everything they have. What confuses me is how do you blast back in proportion to what the dudes threw at you? They shot three rockets at you, so you blast three at them from one them fast moving jets. Man, that is stupid.
Also, how come the Hamas dudes keep picking on someone they know bigger than them?
That money President Obama trying to get to us poor folks, man I’m bettin we don’t see a dime. Them bankers ain’t giving up nothing.
And bout us american deporting democracy. Well, hell, we ain’t the world’s police. I mean we can’t fight with every idiot who wants to be top dog in his country. We can not, I say can not, stop every evil in the world. We can’t go running to every country where the big boss killing folks. Hell, our soldiers doing all they can in them two countries we already at war with.
A little common sense is what I want to see in our government and them talking heads on TV.
It was a glorious day
As the new President of the USA
To the viewing stand made his way
Earlier he had had his say.
Now he would view
The nation he swore to renew
No one cared that his skin was of a darker hue
For skin color no longer was taboo.
I know Tuesday is big day in the history of these United States, especially for us Black folks. Now don’t git me wrong, I ain’t bout to rain on Obama’s big day. It’s just that I don’t see no use in me attending the inauguration. Course, even if I wanted to, I probably couldn’t get no tickets no how.
Okay, Alvin, you may asks, what in hell is your problem?
I do not like crowds. Can you magine how big a crowd one million people is? Man, that is a lotta folks in one small space. No, I think watching on TV and recording the whole historical thing on a DVD is much better. Hey, I can sit back in my easy chair with my tea or coke, what ever I fancy, and watch Black folks make history.
Yes sir, when Obama becomes President Obama of the United States of America, I can shout to myself “Ain’t this a great country.”
Course, later on the week, my friends and I will probably talk bout how never in our life time would we see the day a Black man would be president of the United States of America.
If I was a religious man, which I ain’t, I would shout “At last Lord, God, done made a miracle for us Black folks.”
You know, I think sometimes some smart politicians are just plain stupid. Take that fellow Reid. Now he tried not to let that dude Burris from Illinois into the senate to replace Obama. In fact, when Burris showed up, he was turned away.
Okay, so everybody is made at Blagojevich for his stupid that got him in trouble with those fellows at the FBI. Man, you don’t mess them. But what them folks like Reid don’t seem to get is Blagojevich ain’t been convicted of nothing and he still the governor of Illinois. ‘Course he may not be for long since the Illinois politician done impeached him. Anyway, under the constitutional rules, not them senate rules, Blagojevich still has the authority to appoint people to the senate seat left by Obama.
I think them democratics what was behind Reid, including Obama, done come to realize that they ain’t got a half a leg to stand on. They done made a deal with Burris that if he shows he ain’t made no deal with Blagojevich and the attorney in general say he okay, then he can come into the senate.
Man ought to know when he holding a losing hand. BLOGOJEVICH was holding the winning hand on this one.
Everybody is writing bout what 2009 will bring them and about New Year resolutions. Well, I figure 2009 ain’t gonna bring me nothing new and I sure in hell don’t make no New Year resolution that I won’t keep anyway.
The way I figure it, with times being as bad as they are, I’ll be doing all I can to keep my head above water. Look at what’s happenin to the Black middle class folks. They why I’m all for the bailout for the carmakers. Those folks gon or already done lost their jobs cause the carmakers almost broke. Them high wages they made, well, they probably ain’t make them no more, so sir. Now don’t get me wrong, some White middle class folks is suffering too. Suffering don’t know no race, color, or religion.
Now I likes Obama, the president elected, but man, I’m facing one fact: he gon have a hard time correcting the financial mess we in, and I ain’t holdin my breath til he do. I just hope they don’t reduce my pension, cause if they do, I’ll have to look for a job, and I ain’t sure I can handle an eight hour shift no more, what with my old man illnesses. And I ain’t sayin what they are.
And I ain’t lookin back at 2008 like all the newspapers and TV are doin. I’m with Satchel Paige who said something to the effect “don’t look back because something may be following you.”
