ALVIN S. SIMPLETON SAYS WRONG, WRONG

Man, it’s all over blogosphere and the newspapers and magazines done picked up the news that the cops arrested the prominent Black Harvard scholar, Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., at his house.

Now was it racial profiling? No, no, no.

Let’s take a look at the circumstances. The police officer came to Professor Gates house because of a call from a neighbor reporting some Black men were breaking into the house. So, the officer didn’t know when they arrived that Professor Gates and his driver had been trying to open a front door that was stuck. He did not come to the house because Professor Gates is Black; he came to investigate a reported break-in.

Man, it seems that the Professor jumped sassy from the get-go, accusing the officer of racial profiling. Did he ever once ask why the officer was at his house? I grant the Professor may have been tired from his long trip, but that is no excuse for his conduct.

Unfortunately, the officer’s reaction to the Professor’s harassing didnt help matters. He shoulda just walked away. Instead he lost his cool and things just go worse.

I wish I could say I think it’s over, but you and I know some of my Black brothers gon milking until the cow hollers.

Anyway, my fellow brothers and sisters, if you think it was racial profiling, you wrong, wrong as two left feet.

The Professor came out ahead cause he got him some material for his next PBS documentary.
