All them blogs and newspaper and magazine articles bout Professor and the police say if the professor had been white, there wouldn’t have been a problem.
Well, now, right here in my hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, a police officer acted rather foolishly, and the victim was white!
We dont have the officer’s side of the story yet, so you have to take the story with that old grain of salt. As reported in the newspaper, a neighbor called the police to report children fighting at another neighbor’s house. When the cops showed, according to the woman who lived at the house where the boys were supposedly fighting, the officer stood a 7-year-old boy against a fence and handcuffed him. The boy kept yelling “Mama,” calling the woman who had taken care of him for many years.
She said the officer cursed in front of the children, and she was afraid to say anything because she didn’t know what the officer might do to her.
According to the police department, there is no policy against cuffing children but there is on the use of profanity and dealing with the public.
I wonder what the officer expected the 7-year-old could do if he didn’t handcuff him? Maybe he was trying to teach him a lesson, you think.
Alvin, the philosopher of common sense says some of them policemens need a little common sense. Maybe it oughta be given them in the police academy.
