ALVIN S. SIMPLETON HAS SOME QUESTIONS

If illegals are undocumented, how does a pollster tell how many are in the country or a state? In other words, how does anyone know there are 500,000 illegals in AZ? One aspect of an illegal immigrant’s behavior is hiding for fear of deportation. Man, they stay out of sight.

How do I tell whether governments secrets will harm national security if revealed or whether they are hiding government incompetency or mistakes? I can’t, and aint no government gonna reveal its incompetency or mistakes, especially mistakes in war that costs lives.

Why would the US keep secret the fact that the Taliban used a heat seeking missile to bring down a helicopter? I would have said, damn, them guys used a missile that we probably gave them a long time ago. Maybe they didn’t want the Taliban to know how effective the missiles are. More likely they didn’t want the public (us) to know them Taliban done used one of the weapons we probably gave them to kill some of our troops.

Why do people continue to use negative ads close to election election time? It works. Ask any politician if he or she plans to use negative ads, and, he’ll say Lord no. He or she will disavow negative ads by groups on his behalf. Ask any voter if he or she responds to negative ads, and she or he will also Lord no. And yet, they work.

Will Sarah Palin run for president in 2012? She’s good at self-promotion but her experience as governor says she aint the skills and abilities to run the country.

ALVIN S. SIMPLETON SAYS KNEE JERK REACTION ALWAYS WRONG

By now, youall have read bout and heard bout the Black female employee at the Agriculture Department being fired after a snippet of a video showing her as a racist was aired by Fox news.

As I see, them right wing bully boys and Fox News got the Obama people right where they wants them. They can pull that knee jerk string anytime and them folks in the Administration jump.

I mean you been burned once or twice (you know the ACORN thing) and you fell for it again. Man, if it comes from Fox News, it is bad, and you should stop and get the full story, you know, get the facts.

Naw, stead of gettin the facts you fall for the right-wing bully boy trying to one-up the NAACP cause they reveal racist among the Tea Party by showing on his website the snippet of a video that he claim showed Blacks just as racist as White folks. Without checking, bloggers and Fox news grabbed what was on the video and took off with.

I expect them to run with whatever embarrasses Obama but the NAACP! Man, the lady gave the speech to some of its members at a gathering. So, why did they come at first condemning her?

Everybody is fraid of being called a racist that they just give knee jerk reactions to any crap they see on the Internet without checking where it came from.

Them folks what Obama got workin for him supposed to be some smart folks, and yet, the right wing bullies just keep on pulling that knee jerk string on them.

ALVIN S. SIMPLETON WANTS NAACP TO TAKE ACTION

Why do groups such as legislatures and the NAACP pass resolutions agreeing or condemning something? It is an exercise in futility and a sign of weakness, though it may make them appear to their devotees to be doing something. Anybody who reads the newspapers and sees videos on the Internet knows that there are racists in the Tea Party.

Instead of passing a resolution condemning the presence of racists and racists signs and rhetoric in the Tea Party, The NAACP should counter their words and actions with words and actions of its own. Start voter drives to get people to the voting booth to defeat Tea Party supported candidates and come up with other ideas that will show how dangerous some of the signs and rhetoric are.

Some of the members of the Tea Party are not “real Americans” because in their America only White folks are permitted.

ALVIN S. SIMPLETON SAYS SOME POLITICIANS HAVE FOUND A SCAPEGOAT

Blaming immigrants has been a part of our American history from the day the country was born. Only now, we want to get rid of not legal but illegal immigrants. Don’t git me wrong here. I don’t think any individual should be allowed into the United States illegally. I also don’t believe those who are here illegally should be deemed criminals and held responsible for everything that has gone wrong in a state.

Oklahoma, South Carolina (huh!), and Utah already has some legislation against illegal immigrants and are now considering laws similar to Arizona’s during their next legislative sessions. This, despite the fact that the Justice Department has filed a suit against the Arizona law.

Here in my home state of Tennessee, the State Senate passed a bill that requires citizens who register to vote to present proof of citizenship. In the South before the voting rights act, there was the poll tax and some registrars required Black voters to recite portions of the US Constitution or State Constitution or to do some other stupid thing, all in an effort to prevent them from voting. I aint saying that is what them folks in Nashville are doing, but since we aint no border state and the number of illegal immigrants in our state aint very high, why do a perspective voter need to present proof of citizenship, something not required in the past.

Nobody has presented any evidence to show that non-citizens have voted in our elections. As I see it, using my common sense, it’s a way for politicians to show voters they are fighting for their rights by keeping them illegals from voting in Tennessee.

Now to change the subject. I discovered that a non-gay man can sue another non-gay man for sexual harassment. Their is a case in hometown of Knoxville, a Federal judge is deciding whether a non-gay man claiming sexual harassment by another non-gay employee can bring suit against the employee, the city, and his supervisor. It seems the US Supreme Court has okayed such claimants as legitimate under the anti-discrimination laws.

ALVIN S. SIMPLETON SAYS HE DON’T WANT TO LIVE TO BE 100

A news story about longevity begins with the question, and I paraphrase here, would you want to know if you were gonna live to be 100?

These here scientist folks in New England what are studying something called “genomes” of folks who done lived to be 100 done found some genes what can predict how long you gon live at 77 percent accuracy. One of them expert types at another place think identifying the genes will help protect us against old age diseases cause it’ll be better than attacking them diseases one by one.

Well, now, I’m happy for them scientist cause they got something to keep them busy for years. But I wonder what would happen if a whole lotta us were to live to be 100? I mean the world already crowded, and young folks these days don’t always want to be bother with old folks, not even they parents.

Me, I don’t want to live to be 100 even ifn I’m physically healthy and mentally alert, and I don’t want no test predicting ifn I could live so long cause it’ll mean telling me the date I just might keel over and die. Like I said, the earth gettin crowded and young folks gon start pushing us old folks off the planet.

No, I aint thinkin bout killin myself. I love life and aint gon cry when nature tells me it time to leave life behind and return to the dust. The only fear I have is I might miss something important on this old earth.
